| Subject: Minecraft’s Xbox 360 Retail Release Delayed Sat Apr 13, 2013 7:08 am | |
| Don't think this will matter much to most as the arcade's sales have indicated most interested already own it. - Quote :
- Back in March, we reported that Minecraft on Xbox 360 would get a retail release. Originally a digital-only title available via XBLA, in May of 2012, the retail iteration was set for release on April 30th.
But Microsoft’s Larry Hyrb -- aka Major Nelson -- has revealed that the game has been delayed until June 4th. “In order to include the very latest content,” he Tweeted, “the retail version for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has been delayed until June 4 (US)[.]” Other territories were scheduled to already get it in June; this presumably doesn't change things for those areas of the world.
Minecraft has been an absolute smash-hit on both PC and Xbox 360, as well as mobile devices. The PC version alone had sold 9 million units as of January, 2013, with the Xbox 360 version pushing another 6 million as of late last month.
In addition to its release on mobile devices and Xbox 360, developer Mojang has confirmed that it may also come to PlayStation 3, but that a Wii U version is “unlikely.” Source | |
