- Nintendo is reporting strong sales for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The publisher says that the game has sold over 490,000 units combined across physical and digital in the United States during the first three days of availability.
This makes Super Smash Bros. for Wii U the fastest selling game for the system in the United States. It beat out Mario Kart 8 in our territory, but still has a way to go to dethrone the racer overall.
In Mario Kart 8’s first three days on the market earlier this year, it sold 1.2 million units worldwide. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U arrives in Europe on November 18 and Japan on December 6, so we’ll be waiting to see how the mascot brawler fares across the globe. The reported numbers do not include the rest of the North American territory.
The 3DS version crossed the 1 million mark worldwide earlier this month. Source | |
