According to Deadline, The Flash has outranked CW's heavyweight program The Vampire Diaries to become its biggest series premiere yet with an audience of 6.42 million watchers. The Flash pilot episode even leaked online earlier this summer, making its debut doubly impressive.

The Flash is an Arrow spinoff series starring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, as well as Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells, and Prison Break's Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold. This is The CW's second venture into the DC universe, and executive producer Geoff Johns said "it's probably the most faithful DC Comics adaptation ever."
